2005-06 (Senior Year)
Recipient of the 2006 Dinah Shore Trophy, a prestigious honor that recognizes the best golfer in the nation in terms of success on the golf course, success in the classroom, community service and extraordinary leadership … Compiled a career-best 76.17 stroke average with three top-20 finishes her senior year … Recipient of the USC President[apos]s Award, which is the highest award presented to a South Carolina student-athlete and recognizes an individual who displays extraordinary talents in the areas of athletics, scholarship, leadership and service … Was a key factor in Carolina[apos]s win at the Chrysler Challenge during the fall portion of the schedule, finishing the event tied for eighth on the individual leader board with a 74-73-79=226 … Tied for 13th at The Derby Invitational during the fall, carding a 74-75-74=223 … Her 54-hole score at The Derby was her lowest of the 2005-06 season and the third-lowest mark of her career … Her 79-72-74=225 showing at the 2006 Lady Gamecock Classic provided her lowest single-round total and lowest 54-hole score of the spring schedule and was good for 13th on the final leader board … Matched her season-low round when she carded an even-par 72 in the first round of the NCAA Regional Championship.

2004-05 (Junior Year)
Compiled a 77.00 stroke average…Notched four top-20 finishes, with a pair of 11th-place finishes at the 2004 ACC/SEC Challenge and the Sun Trust Lady Gator Invitational…Shot a season-low round of 70 in the final round of the 2005 SEC Championships to surge to a 15th-place finish…Finished with South Carolina[apos]s lowest score at three consecutive tournaments extending from the last two tournaments of the fall into the first tournament of the spring…Earned a spot on the President[apos]s List (4.0 grade-point average) in the spring semester and was on the Dean[apos]s List in the fall semester.

2003-04 (Sophomore Year)
Had a 78.11 stroke average…Shot a season-best in the third round of the SEC Championship, where she finished in a tie for 20th overall with a three-round score 79-74-71=224…Her overall score of 224 at the SEC Championship was her best three-round score of the year…Finished in a tie for fifth place at the Lady Gamecock Classic with a 75-75-76=226…Competed at the NCAA Regionals, turning in an 84-82-77=243 to finish in a tie for 78th….Earned a spot on the SEC Academic Honor Roll.

2002-03 (Freshman Year)
Competed as the only freshman on the 2002-03 Gamecock squad … Appeared in five tournaments for South Carolina and secured a 78.31 stroke average during her first season of collegiate golf … Participated in two tournaments as an individual (Lady Paladin and Liz Murphey) … Finished tied for eighth place at the Lady Paladin Invitational with a five-over par 221, her best finish in only her second collegiate tournament … Recorded a 72 in the second round of the Lady Paladin for her only par-or-below round as a freshman.

Graduated from Irmo High School where she was named the South Carolina Female Athlete of the Year by The State as a senior … Awarded the 2001 Beth Daniel Player of the Year by the South Carolina Junior Golf Association … Qualified for U.S. Amateur for 2002 … Won 4A State Girl Individual title in 2000 and was runner-up in 2001 … Played on the boys[apos] golf team from the seventh grade until high school … A member of the Irmo team that won three girls team state championships.

Born on June 18, 1984, in Greenville, South Carolina … Full name is Erica Marie Battle … Only child to parents Eddie and Daphne Battle … Picked up golf when she grew tired of tagging along to her dad[apos]s outings and decided to show him how to play … Considers her dad to have been the biggest influence on her life and her golf because ‘he got me started in the game and helped me until he passed away five years ago’…. Admires her mom for her strength and courage that she maintains even through the hard times; her boyfriend for his commitment and God for being so inspirational and playing a huge role in helping her become more spiritual … Plans to double major in marketing and real estate with a minor in hotel, restaurant and tourism … In her freshman year, was named to the dean[apos]s list in the fall and the President[apos]s List in the spring with a perfect 4.0 GPA … Hopes to play professional golf after graduation or do something in the golf field … Would love to see herself on the cover of Sports Illustrated … Says that Coach Coggins is like a second mother to her USC squad … Favorite golf course is the Harbour Town Golf Links on Hilton Head Island … Enjoys eating crablegs and baklava … Names Charleston, South Carolina as her favorite city to visit … Chose her tie for eighth place at the Lady Paladin Classic, in only her second collegiate golf event, as her favorite Gamecock memory … Favorite athlete is Tiger Woods … Chose the University of South Carolina because she like the coaches, the golf facilities and the reputation of the Business School … Also liked the cohesiveness of the team and the closeness to her home and her mother.
