Senior RHP Zac McCamie recorded his team-best eighth victory of the season in Sunday’s 5-2 win over the Crimson Tide … McCamie is 8-2 on the year with a 2.22 ERA as well as 79 strikeouts and just 27 walks allowed in 73 innings pitched … The senior from Orlando, Fla. held Alabama hitless into the sixth inning and has worked at least five innings in all 11 starts he has made this year.

Junior RHP Brent Marsh made his team-leading 18th appearance to pick up his ninth save of the year in Sunday’s win … Marsh is 1-1 with a 1.80 ERA on the year and 22 strikeouts in 20 innings pitched.

Senior INF Steve Pearce slugged three home runs over the weekend vs. Alabama including two in Saturday’s game … Pearce is batting .343 on the year with a team-high 12 HR and 36 RBI, seven of the 12 home runs have come vs. SEC opponents as well as a .358 batting average in the conference … Pearce now has 33 career home runs as a Gamecock and is tied for 11th on the USC All-Time Career List (Hank Small holds the record with 48 homers from 1972-75).

Junior OF Michael Campbell collected his team-best fifth triple of the season and now has 10 on his career moving him into fourth place on the USC All-Time Career List, Campbell is just two behind Mac White (1991-94) and Dr. Bill Harley (1930-32) who both hold the record with 12 … Campbell’s fifth triple puts him just one behind the USC single-game record of six set by Brian Buscher in 2002 … Campbell recorded three hits in Sunday’s win over Alabama and has 197 in his three-year career at Carolina, just three shy of becoming the 19th player in school history to record 200 career hits.

South Carolina returns to action on Friday as the Gamecocks host a three-game series vs. Auburn … Carolina leads the all-time series with the Tigers 21-13 and have won five consecutive three-game series between the two schools dating back to the 1998 season (the two teams did not meet in 2002 or 2003 in a series; Auburn defeated USC 5-1 in 2003 at the SEC Tournament) … Carolina took two of three games from Auburn last season in Auburn … The last time the teams met in Columbia was 2001 when Carolina also won two of three games.
