Game Notes
– 1st meeting between Coastal Carolina and North Carolina in the NCAA Tournament. UNC leads the overall series 32-11.
Coastal Carolina
– The 2004 appearance is Coastal’s fourth straight appearance. (2001,02,03,04).
– Coastal will play the loser of the South Carolina-The Citadel game at 11 a.m. tomorrow.
– The loss for Coastal is only their second in their last 11 games.
– Coastal is now 36-2 on the year when leading after eight innings.
– Coastal’s last at bat loss was on April 10th against VMI, 4-3.
North Carolina
– UNC has made at least one error in seven consecutive games.
– Mike Daniel and Chris Iannetta extended their hitting streak to seven games while Greg Mangum extended his to 11.
– The appearance in the Columbia, S.C. Regional is UNC’s third consecutive NCAA Tournament.
– UNC will face the winner of the South Carolina-The Citadel game at 3 p.m. tomorrow.
– The Tar Heels have won four of their last five games.
– Three of UNC’s seven hits came in the ninth inning.
