The South Carolian men’s golf team shot a three-round score of 878 to finish 13th at the Conrad Rehling Invitational in Tuscaloosa, Ala. Minnesota led each round of compition and finished on top of the leader board with a score of 847. Host Alabama and University of Toledo tied for second.
Brent Delahoussaye struggled in the second round after firing a 68 in the first round. In today’s action he fired 72, one-over-par, to finish in a tie for 22nd with a total of 217.
Freshman Martin Rominger was second on the team with a score of 219. Rominger steadily improved after each round of competition. He fired a 75 in the first round, followed by 74 and then shot a one-under par 70.
After posting 80 in the first round of action, Johan Kok averaged 70 on the next two rounds. He fired a 69 on Saturday and 71 on Sunday. His three-day total of 220 placed him in a tie for 36th.
Alex Hamilton finished in 52nd with a score of 225,while Matt Giffin’ shot a three-round total of 231.
The Gamecocks return to action March 23-24 in Statesboro, Ga. for the EZ-GO Invitational.
