Head Coach Kent DeMars recorded his 300th victory at Carolina. He currently stands second on the all-time list for wins at USC. Ron Smarr holds that title, recording 319 wins at Carolina in his 11 year career at USC. Smarr currently is the head coach of Rice, who South Carolina fell to in the first round of the NCAA Championships in 2003 at Austin, Texas, 4-2.
Tom Eklund recorded his fifth singles win this season. He currently leads the team with that streak, recording a win in every match this season.
Carolina is now 4-0 against Region II opponents this season.
