South Carolina Head Coach Kent DeMars
“Well, I guess winning 300 matches here just means they’ve kept me around long enough to get a few wins.”
“Milestones are nice to have but in a team sport it matters how we do as a team. It is always nice to achieve a milestone though and being in such a good place and good situation will accomplish that.”
“If I could stay out of the Southeastern Conference for a decade, I’m sure I could get 300 wins in 11-13 years (like former Carolina coach Ron Smarr). I’m not taking anything away from him [Smarr], I know he did a great job when South Carolina was in the Metro Conference. The Southeastern Conference in men’s tennis is by far the toughest conference. We’re ranked 24th in the nation and that puts us about eighth or ninth in the SEC.”
