In preparation for the 2002 Southeastern Conference Men’s Golf Championships on April 19-21, the University of South Carolina men’s golf team heads to Augusta, Ga. for one final tournament. The Cleveland Golf-Augusta State Invitational is a two-day tournament with two rounds of action on Saturday, April 6 and one round on Sunday, April 7. Forest Hills Golf Club will host the weekend tournament. Making up the Gamecocks’ five-man team is Martin Rominger, Brent Delahoussaye, Nash Elliot, Scott Feaster and Alex Hamilton. Rominger, placing in the top 20 in four tournaments, leads the team with a 72.9 stoke average. Averaging 73.3 the Greenville, S.C. native, Delahoussaye, is second on the team. Delahoussaye posted three top 20 finishes during the season. The first round of the Cleveland Golf-Augusta State Invitational is slated to tee off at 8:00 a.m. with a shotgun start. Second round of play will begin approximately at 1:30 p.m.
