Kendall Couch Named to SEC Community Service Team
Columbia, S.C. – Junior Kendall Couch has been named to the SEC Community Service Team, the league office announced Wednesday.
Couch has amassed 22 hours of community service this year alone for a total of 37.5 hours in her time as a Gamecock. She is a member of the Student Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) and has volunteered in many events both on and off campus.
A Columbia, S.C., native, Couch has given back to the community in which she grew up. She donated school supplies for the Welcome Back Event at the beginning of the year that were distributed to schools in the greater Columbia area. Additionally, she read books to local children via Zoom and assisted with an afterschool program. She even donated items to the Athletics Fall Basket Drive and participated in the Turkey Drive to hand out turkeys to Columbia residents around Thanksgiving.
The Gamecock junior has volunteered with St. Lawrence Place which is an organization that is a part of Homelessness No More and combats homelessness in the Columbia area. When St. Lawrence Place moved to a new location, she helped them move supplies into their facility.
On campus, Couch has assisted with Honors College events and is a member of the Dean’s Council. She recently coordinated the Dodie Cafeteria & Staff Luncheon that celebrated and thanked the staff members with a catered meal. Couch also participated in USTA Kid’s Day in which she ran drills with local kids who play tennis, and she has helped at this year’s Garnet Aces Clinics.
