Track and Field Set to Host Annual Coaches Clinic

COLUMBIA—The University of South Carolina track & field program will hold its annual Sprint, Jump and Hurdles Coaches Clinic Nov. 19-20. 
 
This season’s clinic will take place at the Sheila & Morris Cregger Track as well as the Arnold School of Public Health on the Carolina campus.
 
All-access registration for this year’s clinic will be $150. More information on registration, including a link to register online, can be found here
 
Featured speakers at the 2021 Coaches Clinic include national champion head coach Caryl Smith Gilbert, Carolina assistant head coach Delethea Quarles, Carolina assistant coach Karim Abdel Wahab, Lawrence Johnson who coached Olympic gold medalist and former World Record holder Dalilah Muhammed and three-time USTFCCCA Southeast Region Coach of the Year Duane Ross.
 
Topics include Men’s 400-meter sprint training, strength and power development for short sprints, 400-meter hurdles, training principles for high jumping and training to finish the last 200 meters of the 400 meters. In addition to speaking sessions, the clinic includes a biomechanical analysis session with Ken Clark, if weather permits.
 
Camp registration is open to any and all participants; limited only by age, grade level, and/or gender.
