South Carolina Earns 3 Wins on Day 2 of the Wolverine Invitational
ANN ARBOR, Mich. – Three Gamecocks notched wins on the second day of the Wolverine Invitational. Elise Mills and Misa Malkin earned their wins in straight sets, while Ana Cruz forced her match to three sets to take the win.
Gamecock Notables
- Junior Ana Cruz went down 6-4 in the first set against Michigan’s Merri Kelly. Cruz came back to win the second set 6-4 and carried that momentum into her third set, winning 6-2.
- Elise Mills recorded her first singles win of the weekend with a 6-2, 6-0 win over Anca Craciun of Michigan.
- Freshman Misa Malkin earned a commanding straight-sets win over Ohio State’s Lina Ali 6-1, 6-3.
- Lindsay Tulenko notably sent her match against Donmenika Turkovic of ASU to a third set after taking the second set 7-5.
South Carolina will close out the Wolverine Invitational on Sunday with one round of doubles and one round of singles.
