Gamecocks Fall In Midweek Game

COLUMBIA, S.C. —- South Carolina softball dropped a 6-0 game to No. 16 Clemson on Wednesday night at Carolina Softball Stadium at Beckham Field. The Tigers scored three runs in the first and a trio in the sixth to earn the win in their second-consecutive shutout.
 
Cayla Drotar (3-6) took the loss in the circle. She allowed three runs on two hits before switching to the designated player for the remainder of the inaugural game in the in-state rivalry.   
 
Riley Blampied, Kassidy Krupit and Jordan Fabian recorded the three South Carolina hits.
 
First pitch in the inaugural game was delivered at 7:02 p.m. ET by Drotar.
