Softball Series Tied Heading Into Sunday Finale
Carolina will honor three graduate seniors and look for first series win
COLUMBIA, S.C. —- South Carolina softball dropped a 6-2 game to Mississippi State on Saturday at Carolina Softball Stadium at Beckham Field. The Bulldogs scored six runs on four walks, two hit by pitches and two hits in the first inning to tie the series at 1-1 heading to the finale on Sunday.
Kassidy Krupit’s double in the bottom of the fifth was Carolina’s first run-producing play of the afternoon before Mackenzie Boesel’s two-out single pushed another run across in the seventh.
Karsen Ochs (3-3) took the loss in the circle. Rachel Vaughan and Cayla Drotar also saw action.
Krupit, Zoe Laneaux, Carlie Henderson, Kenzi Maguire, Drotar and Boesel had the nine Carolina hits. Krupit finished with a 3-for-3 day with an RBI. She finished with two doubles. Maguire finished 2-for-4 with a double.
