Gamecocks Drop Series Opener To Ole Miss
Aaliyah White finishes with 1-for-2 day
OXFORD, Miss. —- South Carolina softball dropped an 8-0 game to Ole Miss on Friday night at the Ole Miss Softball Complex. The Rebels scored seven runs over the final two innings to secure the series opener.
Ole Miss’ Savannah Diederich (10-7) was strong in the circle from start to finish as she tossed a complete-game shutout with seven strikeouts in five innings of work.
Leah Powell (5-2) took the loss in the circle for the Gamecocks. She went 3.2 innings with five runs on six hits. Four runs were earned.
Aaliyah White had the lone South Carolina hit of the afternoon with a single to left field in the top of the fifth.
