Gamecocks in the Summer Leagues - Final Update

The Gamecocks are back in class this morning (Thursday, Aug. 24), which means summer ball is in the rear-view mirror. Here’s a look at how the guys did in the various summer leagues across the country.

Cape Cod League
Talmadge LeCory (Harwich Mariners) – LeCroy played eight regular-season games for Harwich this season, hitting .286 with a double, three runs scored and an OPS of .797. He also had a walk and a run scored in Harwich’s five playoff games in the Cape.

Kennedy Jones (Harwich Mariners) – Jones had five doubles, a triple and a home run in 26 games played for the Mariners. He also had 15 RBI and 13 walks.

Ty Good (Hyannis Harbor Hawks) – Good made two outings for the Harbor Hawks this summer, striking out six batters in 5.2 innings of work.

Tyler Dean (Wareham Gatemen) – Dean made eight appearances for the Gatemen in 2023, striking out eight batters in 7.2 innings of work.

Drake Quinn (Brewster Whitecaps) – Quinn made seven appearances for the Whitecaps this summer, striking out nine batters in 12.1 innings pitched.

Northwoods League
Parker Noland (Fond du Lac Dock Spiders) – Noland played in nine games for the Dock Spiders this summer and a double, a home run, three RBI and 11 walks in 29 at-bats.

Alaska Baseball League
Blake Jackson (Anchorage Glacier Pilots) – Jackson had a solid summer in Anchorage, hitting .357 with 12 doubles, three triples, 22 RBI and nine stolen bases, finishing with a .985 OPS.

Coastal Plain League
The Gamecocks had six players on the Lexington County Blowfish this summer, helping the team to a Coastal Plain League title. Austin Williamson had a 2-1 record with a 3.00 ERA with 18 strikeouts in 24 innings of work. Zander Buchan had four doubles and four home runs in 23 games played. Ethan Petry played in eight games for the Blowfish with a double, a home run and five RBI. Connor McCreery had six strikeouts in nine innings pitched while Thomas Powell had five home runs and 19 runs scored in 83 at-bats. Dalton Reeves hit .300 with two doubles, a home run and 10 RBI in 70 at-bats.

Jackson Phipps (Macon Bacon) – Phipps pitched 5.2 innings for the Bacon this summer, striking out six and allowing one hit in four innings in his final outing of the season.

Tristan Salinas (Boone Bigfoots) – Salinas had a .286 average with 18 runs scored, 12 RBI, seven doubles and two home runs for the Bigfoots.

Prospect League
Ryan Bakes (Illinois Valley Pistol Shrimp) – Bakes played in 25 games for the Pistol Shrimp, hitting .342 with five doubles, two triples and six home runs. He scored 25 runs and had 17 RBI during the summer.

Valley League
Garrett Gainey (Winchester Royals) – Gainey had a 4-0 record with Winchester, striking out 26 batters in 22 innings on the mound in four appearances. Gainey had a 1.22 ERA while walking only four batters.

Florida Collegiate League
Austin Brinling (Leesburg Lightning) – Brinling hit .298 with three doubles, two triples, 17 RBI and 23 runs scored in 27 games for the Lightning. He also stole 25 bases and had 20 walks.

Southern Collegiate
Tyler Zedalis (Lake Norman Copperheads) – Zedalis played in 25 games for the Copperheads and had four doubles and six home runs in 25 games with four stolen bases.
