D1 Baseball Ranks Gamecock Recruiting Class No. 9 in the Country
Carolina's recruiting class has been ranked by three organizations this fall.
OMAHA, Neb. – The University of South Carolina baseball team’s 2019 recruiting class has been selected as the ninth-best in the country by D1Baseball.com, the website announced this morning (Thursday, Dec. 19). The Gamecocks’ class is now nationally ranked by three organizations after Collegiate Baseball had Carolina at No. 3 and Baseball America had the Gamecocks at No. 11.
Carolina is one of 10 schools in the SEC ranked by the publication. The recruiting class features six players (Andrew Peters, Brennan Milone, Noah Myers, Brannon Jordan, Thomas Farr and Jeff Heinrich) that were selected in the 2019 MLB First-Year Player Draft.
Also this week, D1Baseball.com announced its Top 150 College Prospect Rankings, as six current players and signees were on the list. Carmen Mlodzinski comes in at No. 7 on the list while signee Luke Little checks in at No. 20. The duo is followed by Noah Campbell (No. 81), Thomas Farr (No. 90), signee CJ Weins (No. 121) and Brannon Jordan (No. 133).
The Gamecocks open the 2020 season on Friday, Feb. 14 against Holy Cross at Founders Park. First pitch is scheduled for 4 p.m.
