Baseball Ranked No. 15 in NCBWA Preseason Top-30 Poll
MORGANTOWN, W. Va. – The University of South Carolina baseball team was ranked No. 15 in the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Associated (NCBWA) preseason Top-30 poll, the publication announced this afternoon (Thursday, Feb. 1).
The Gamecocks were one of nine teams in the SEC in the top-30. Wake Forest earned the number one spot, followed by LSU, Florida and Arkansas. Tennessee rounded out the top five.
This is Carolina’s fourth preseason ranking heading into the 2024 season. The Gamecocks are ranked No. 12 in Baseball America, No. 13 in Perfect Game and No. 25 in D1Baseball.
Carolina was ranked No. 13 in the NCBWA’s final 2023 poll after going 42-21 overall and advancing to the NCAA Gainesville Regional.
The Gamecocks open the 2024 season on Friday, Feb. 16 against Miami (Ohio). First pitch is set for 4 p.m.
