NOTES:
Five Gamecocks combined for Carolina’s eighth no-hitter in school history in Sunday’s 14-0 win over Miami. Roman Kimball, Ty Good, Tyler Pitzer, Parker Marlatt and Tyler Dean struck out nine in the seven-inning win.

The no-hitter was the first by the Gamecocks since Feb. 24, 2013, and the second in the 21st century.

Eli Jones earned the win in Friday’s 5-1 victory on Opening Day. Jones went six innings, most of any SEC pitcher on Friday, and struck out five and allowed three hits and a run with no walks. Jones picked up his sixth career victory in a Gamecock uniform.

The Gamecocks were led at the plate by Dylan Brewer and Blake Jackson’s five RBI apiece. Brewer went 3-for-8 with three runs scored while Jackson was 3-for-9 with four walks.

Ethan Petry belted two home runs in Saturday’s 11-4 win over the Redhawks, giving him 25 for his career. It was the fourth multi-home run game of Petry’s career and featured a 420-foot blast in the third inning.

Dylan Eskew allowed just one unearned run in five innings of work to pick up his first win of the year. Eskew struck out six and allowed just one hit in an 80-pitch outing.
