South Carolina Finishes Play at ITA Regional
CARY, N.C. — South Carolina men’s tennis wrapped up a successful showing at the ITA Carolina Regional Sunday. Sophomores Raphael Lambling and Daniel Rodrigues and freshman Connor Thomson advanced to the quarterfinals before falling to ranked opponents.
In the round of 16, Thomson knocked off the No. 59 ranked player in the nation, Nick Stachowiak of Duke, in straight sets to give the Gamecock freshman his highest ranked win on the year.
The Gamecocks ended the tournament with a team singles record of 15-6 in the main draw over the course of three days.
