Gamecock Summer Baseball Wrap-Up

COLUMBIA – The collegiate summer leagues across the country are wrapping up their playoff runs as baseball moves towards the beginning of classes and fall practice. Here’s an overview of how the Gamecocks (redshirt freshman and above) did in their summer league seasons.

• Carmen Mlodzinski made six starts during the regular season for Falmouth in the Cape Cod League, allowing just seven earned runs while striking out 40 in 29.1 innings pitched. Mlodzinski was 2-0 on the year with a 2.14 ERA and only walked four batters. He pitched five innings in a playoff game vs. Bourne, earning the win with three strikeouts and no runs allowed.
• Noah Campbell and Andrew Eyster both played for Yarmouth-Dennis in the Cape. Campbell had his second straight strong season at Y-D, hitting. 324 with three home runs and 19 RBI. He also walked 23 times in 34 games and stole six bases while earning a spot in the All-Star Game. Eyster also had three home runs and drove in 13 in 32 games for the Red Sox. Noah Myers played in a pair of games for Y-D at the start of the season.
• Cam Tringali pitched for the Brewster Whitecaps of the Cape Cod League, making eight appearances with seven starts while striking out 36 in 33.2 innings pitched. Tringali had a 3.20 ERA and had a season-best eight strikeouts in a win over Orleans on July 27.
• Dallas Beaver played in 32 games for the Wareham Gatemen in the Cape and was selected for the league’s All-Star Game. He hit .287 with seven doubles, a pair of home runs and 15 RBI. He also had a pair of hits in the Gatemen’s three playoff games.
• Wes Clarke was an All-Star and was fifth in the Valley League with a .364 batting average for the Waynesboro Generals. Clarke was second in the league with 14 doubles to go along with six home runs, 29 RBI and 27 walks in 37 games. He helped the Generals to a 31-11 record in the regular season.
• Daniel Lloyd made 12 appearances with four starts for the Savannah Bananas of the Coastal Plain League. Lloyd struck out 33 batters in 29.2 innings pitched, going 2-2 on the season.
• Jonah Beamon played in 42 games for the Wilmington Sharks of the Coastal Plain League and had a home run, 11 RBI, 15 runs scored and seven stolen bases on the season.
• Josiah Sightler played in seven games for the Lexington County Blowfish and had a pair of doubles and a home run with six RBI in 23 plate appearances.
• Brannon Jordan was 2-0 with a 1.74 ERA and 28 strikeouts in 20.2 innings pitched for the Eau Claire Express of the Northwoods League. Jordan walked just seven batters and allowed only 10 hits over the summer for the Express.
• Brady Allen played in 31 games for the La Crosse Loggers in the Northwoods League, hitting .290 with 12 doubles, a pair of triples and 29 RBI. The outfielder stole five bases and drew 20 walks.
• Parker Coyne made seven starts for the Lakeshore Chinooks of the Northwoods League, striking out 42 batters in 41.1 innings pitched. He had eight strikeouts in three separate starts, including a win over Wisconsin Rapids on June 23.
• Jeff Heinrich played in 19 games for Rockford in the Northwoods League. He hit .270 with 14 runs scored, four doubles, a pair of home runs and 11 RBI while swiping five bases.
