Columbia, S.C. –
The University of South Carolina will travel to Cary, N.C., Friday, September 26 as 400 plus teams and over 4,000 runners from 29 states compete in the 5th annual Great American Cross Country Festival.

The two-day event will feature 37 nationally ranked teams in 30 races. USC will be among 80 women’s collegiate teams, whom will be split up into four different races. The Gamecocks 5K race will begin at 5:15 p.m. Friday evening at the SAS Soccer Park cross country course. Saturday’s races will include several of the best high school teams and runners in the nation.

Team members not traveling to Cary, N.C. will compete at The Citadel Invitational in Charleston, S.C. on Saturday, Sept. 27 at James Island County Park. The women’s collegiate race will begin at 9:45 a.m.
