Baseball's Tippett Named to SEC Community Service Team
BIRMINGHAM – University of South Carolina sophomore shortstop Will Tippett has been named to the Southeastern Conference’s Baseball Community Service Team, it was announced by the league this afternoon (Wednesday, May 15).
Tippett was a part of the Screaming Eagles visit to Founders Park for a baseball Game with children with disabilities. He helped with the MLK Day of Service Event- and was involved with the donation of cans for the SAAC Thanksgiving Food & Toiletry Drive. He also went to White Knoll Elementary School to read books to students.
In a continuing effort to recognize the accomplishments of student-athletes beyond the field of competition, the Southeastern Conference has highlighted a Community Service Team for baseball for the 2024 season. The conference names a Community Service Team for each of its 21 league-sponsored sports, looking to highlight an athlete from each school who gives back to his community through superior service efforts.
Carolina ends the regular season with a three-game set at Tennessee. The series opens on Thursday night (May 16) at 6:30 p.m.
