Kotsar Named To NABC Honors Court
COLUMBIA, S.C. – South Carolina senior forward Maik Kotsar has been named to the 2018-19 NABC Honors Court for his outstanding work in the classroom, it was announced on Wednesday.
In order to be named to the Honors Court, a student-athlete must meet a high standard of academic criteria. They must academically be a junior or senior and a varsity player, and must maintain a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.2 or higher at the conclusion of the 2018-19 academic year, and been at their current institution for at least one year. Student-athletes from NCAA Division I, II, II, or NAIA Division I or II are honored for their academic achievements on the Honors Court.
Kotsar, a finance major, saw action in 30 games during his junior campaign, averaging 6.7 points and 4.7 rebounds per contest. He tallied a career high 25 points in Carolina’s home victory over No. 14 Mississippi State in January. On the year, he posted five double-figure scoring performances and one double-double. Kotsar also garnered SEC Academic Honor Roll accolades this spring.
