Gamecock Softball Announces Alabama Series As Alumni Weekend
COLUMBIA, S.C. —- South Carolina softball and head coach Beverly Smith are proud to announce the series against Alabama (April 5-7) as alumni weekend as part of the program’s plan to retire alumna Trinity Johnson’s jersey before the April 6 game against the Crimson Tide. All South Carolina alumni are invited to return to campus as the Gamecocks will celebrate the 30th anniversary of the 1989 Women’s College World Series team.
South Carolina softball will face the Crimson Tide in a three-game set starting Friday at 6:00 PM ET on SEC Network + before continuing Saturday at 6:00 PM ET on ESPN. The series is set to conclude Sunday at 1:00 PM ET on SEC Network +.

Full schedule of alumni weekend events:
Friday
5:00 PM ET – Check-in at white tent outside of Carolina Stadium.
- Each alumna will receive two complimentary tickets. Each additional ticket will be $1 per person. Alumni will also receive an alumni gift and two complimentary reception wristbands. Additional wristbands are $10 per adult and $5 for each additional child.
5:40 PM ET – All alumni to the field
- All alumni will be recognized on the field prior to the game alongside the 1989 team, which will also throw out the first pitch.
6:00 PM ET – Game time (Game 1)
8:00 PM ET to 10:00 PM ET – Postgame reception at the Dodie Academic Center
- Casual attire. Light hor d’oeurves, desserts and drinks will be served.
Saturday
12:00 PM ET – Spring football game
- Admission is free to the public with gates set to open at 10:30 AM ET.
4:00 PM ET – Gates open at Carolina Softball Stadium at Beckham Field
- Refreshments will be available to alumni in the team room
5:40 PM ET – Trinity Johnson jersey retirement on the field
- South Carolina Athletics alongside Gamecock softball will honor Trinity Johnson and all her accomplishments at Carolina with the retiring of her jersey prior to the game. Trinity will also throw out the ceremonial first pitch.
6:00 PM ET – Game time (Game 2)
Sunday
12:00 PM ET – Gates open at Carolina Softball Stadium at Beckham Field
1:00 PM ET – Game time (Game 3)
