Martins Moves Up to No. 4 in ITA Singles Poll

TEMPE, Ariz. – South Carolina senior Ingrid Martins becomes the highest-ranked singles player in program history, yet again, after coming in at No. 4 in the newest Intercollegiate Tennis Association’s (ITA) poll.
 
This season, Martins has a dual-match record of 11-2 and is 23-6 overall. Against nationally ranked opponents, Martins has put up a mark of 9-2.
 
In doubles, Martins and partner Mia Horvit hold steady at No. 2. Playing at the No. 1 position, the Gamecock duo has tallied an 11-2 mark in dual matches and sits at an overall record of 21-4.
 
As a team, Carolina drops two spots to No. 5 after a pair of, 4-0, wins against No. 49 Auburn and No. 43 Alabama.
 
Senior Paige Cline won both of her matches over the weekend in straight sets and is now ranked at No. 28 in the singles poll. Cline has a dual-match record of 9-3 and is 18-6 on the season.
 
Joining Martins and Cline, junior Mia Horvit comes in at No. 102. Horvit is 11-2 at the No. 3 position for the Gamecocks and 18-5 overall.
 
Rounding out the rankings, senior Rachel Rohrabacher and sophomore Megan Davies are the No. 36-ranked tandem in the ITA poll.
 
Coming up, South Carolina plays its final regular-season match, heading to Florida for a 10 a.m. ET match on Saturday, April 13.
