Ford Earns SEC Women’s Runner of the Week

COLUMBIA, S.C. (Jan. 14, 2025) – South Carolina Track & Field standout JaMeesia Ford needed just one meet to pile on yet another SEC Women’s Runner of the Week to her resume.

Ford earned the SEC weekly honor following her performance in the Gamecock Opener where she ran a world-leading time in the 300 meter, crossing the line at 36.48 for the win. The Fayetteville, N.C. native capped off the weekend as the anchor in the women’s 4x400m leading the Gamecocks to a 3:35.58 time for the win and the fourth fastest time in the NCAA this season.

Ford and the rest of the Gamecocks will compete at the Corky Classic in Lubbock, Texas this weekend. The two-day meet will start at 4 p.m. (EST) on Friday.
