Elizabeth Heath

Elizabeth enters her first year as a member of the cross country team. She is looking to make great contributions to the team and to be a valuable asset during the cross country and track seasons. Her experience from high school should be a key asset to the team. She served as team captain for three years at West Potomac High School, running in the number one spot since her freshman year. Elizabeth placed 28th in the 2007 Southeast Foot Locker Regional in a PR of 18:10. She was a five-time all-state honoree in the two mile for the indoor and outdoor track season (11:11). Elizabeth was also a member of the 4x800m relay team that placed third at the state meet in 2007. She claimed a total of 12 varsity letters (cross country, indoor track and outdoor track) and four cross country MVP awards. She was also a Scholar-Athlete Award winner and two-time honorable mention selection for Female Athlete of the Year.

Elizabeth looks forward to forming a bond with her Gamecock teammates, as well as the feeling of accomplishment after completing meets. In the summer of 2008, she vacationed in Mexico and the West Caribbean. Her parents are Joe Heath and Amy Gass.
