The University of South Carolina men’s golf team is tied for ninth place with N. C. State after round one of competition at the Carpet Capital Collegiate in Dalton, Ga. Georgia Tech leads the 15-team field, followed by Tennessee and Wake Forest.
Sophomore Brent Delahoussaye and freshman Martin Rominger led the Gamecocks with a score of 74, two-over-par. Delahoussaye and Rominger are tied for 22nd place.
Firing a score of 76, Johan Kok is currently in 41st. Closing out the Gamecock’s five-man team is Nash Elliot (46th) and Scott Feaster (63rd).
Tar Heel Dustin Bray leads the individual field with a five-under-par round of 67.
The second round of action will begin on Saturday, Oct. 6 at 8:30 a.m.
