Baseball's Sutter Named an NCBWA Preseason All-American
DALLAS – Redshirt senior Logan Sutter of the University of South Carolina baseball team was named a National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) Preseason All-American, the organization announced this afternoon (Friday, Feb. 6).
Sutter, who was named to the fourth team as a second baseman, is a grad transfer who played his last two seasons at Purdue. In 2025, Sutter played in 54 games and hit .367 with 22 doubles, 15 home runs and 62 RBI. He had 38 doubles in his two seasons with the Boilermakers while belting 23 home runs and driving in 99. He was a second team All-Big Ten selection in 2025 and was named to the ABCA All-Midwest Region first team.
Sutter started his collegiate career at Folsom Lake College, where he hit .390 in 2023 and was a two-time All-Big 8 selection and a junior college All-American in 2023.
Sutter and the Gamecocks open the 2026 season next Friday afternoon (Feb. 13) when Carolina hosts Northern Kentucky. First pitch is set for 4 p.m. at Founders Park and the game will be streamed on SEC Network Plus.
