Columbia, S.C. – The South Carolina baseball team travels to Spartanburg on Wednesday night for a non-conference game with Wofford beginning at 7 p.m. at Duncan Park. The Gamecocks own a 28-17 record on the year and have won both contests vs. the Terriers this season. South Carolina defeated Wofford 29-4 in seven innings on March 19 and also defeated the Terriers on April 16 with a 7-1 victory, both games in Columbia.

South Carolina will start sophomore LHP Matt Campbell (2-3, 5.21 ERA). Campbell earned his second victory of the season last Tuesday in Carolina’s 5-1 win vs. UNC Asheville. Campbell currently has 52 strikeouts in 46 2/3 innings pitched and will start his 10th game of the season tomorrow night.

This Wednesday’s game marks the last of a four-game road swing as Carolina returns home this weekend for a three-game set vs. Kentucky. With three SEC series remaining, South Carolina is 10-11 in conference play and just one-half game behind Florida for first place in the SEC Eastern Division.
