COLUMBIA, S.C. – South Carolina head softball coach Beverly Smith announces the launch of a new website for her team, GamecockSoftball.com, which will compliment the team’s home on GamecocksOnline.com.

The site brings in posts from Gamecocks’ various social media accounts on Twitter, Facebook, Youtube and Instagram into one place. Fans can also contribute to the new site by using the hashtag #GamecockSB on Instagram, which will highlight some of the best posts all year long. The site also has a team schedule and a countdown clock to each game.

“The GamecockSoftball.com site is fantastic,” remarked Smith. “I like that our fans can go to this site and get the up-to-the-minute information on the program. All of the content on the website has always been available; we just made it easier for fans of Carolina Softball to access all of the videos and social media in one place. I look forward to the interaction with fans posting using the #GamecockSB on Instagram. I love this cutting-edge concept and appreciate the generosity of Mitzi and David Beckham that allowed it to come to fruition.”

South Carolina kicks off the 2016 season in 18 days as part of the USF Wilson Demarini Tournament in Tampa, Fla. The Gamecocks will face Women’s College World Series participant Michigan in the season opener at 9:30 a.m. at the USF Softball Complex before facing host USF, Virginia Tech and Illinois State during the event.

Season tickets are on sale now for Gamecock Softball’s 33-game home slate at GamecocksOnline.com/Tickets. Prices are $25 for adults and $10 for youth 17 and under, making this the best season ticket deal offered at South Carolina.
