The No. 18 South Carolina Gamecocks will host their final home doubleheader of the year when they play Furman at 5 p.m. on Wed., April 23. Carolina enters the series 32-14 and 16-9 in the SEC while the Lady Paladins are 18-22 and 7-8 in the Southern Conference. The Gamecocks are 16-6 at Beckham Field this year and have lost only one non-conference game at home. Wednesday is also “Family Day”. All kids get in free with a paying adult.

This will mark the 62nd meeting between South Carolina and Furman. Carolina leads the series 50-10-1. The two teams have met every year since 1985. Last year, the Gamecocks defeated the Lady Paladins 8-0 and 7-0 in Columbia. The last time Furman defeated Carolina was in 2001 when the Lady Paladins defeated USC 1-0.

The Gamecocks are coming off of a 1-2 weekend to SEC opponent Alabama while Furman has a six-game losing streak. The Lady Paladins last win came on April 5 against UNC-Wilmington. Since then, Furman has lost to Florida State and Chattanooga.

Carolina will wrap up SEC play this weekend at Ole Miss and the regular season next Wednesday at Coastal Carolina.
