COLUMBIA, S.C. – Gamecock head softball coach Beverly Smith has six fall games scheduled for her team as part of their fall practice period in preparation for the 2016 season.

South Carolina hosts Charlotte for a doubleheader on Sun., Sept. 27 starting at 1 p.m., while a tournament will be held the following weekend. The Fall Carolina Classic brings in Charleston Southern, College of Charleston, Claflin and Spartanburg Methodist for the event. The Gamecocks and Buccaneers battle on Fri., Oct. 2 at 7 p.m. to open the event, with South Carolina taking on Spartanburg Methodist and College of Charleston on Saturday in consecutive games that start at 10 a.m. Sunday’s contest for the Gamecocks sees them take on Claflin at 12 noon.

Admission to all fall games is free at Carolina Softball Stadium at Beckham Field.

The 2016 Gamecocks look to continue to build on a three-year streak making the NCAA Tournament. First-team NFCA All-American Alaynie Page leads a group of 17 returners and seven starters back from last year’s 38-22 team.
