COLUMBIA, S.C. – University of South Carolina head men’s basketball coach Frank Martin announced on Tuesday the signing of Eric Cobb (F – 6-10 – 275 – Jacksonville, Fla./St. Francis Academy (Baltimore)), Raymond Doby (F – 6-7 – 230 – St. Louis, Mo./Montrose Christian School/St. John’s Northwestern Military Academy (Wisconsin)) and Jamall Gregory (G – 6-4 – 180 – Washington, D.C./Coolidge High School/Elev8 Institute (Florida)). The trio will join the Gamecocks for the 2015-16 campaign, and all will have four years of eligibility beginning this fall. The group joins fall signees P.J. Dozier and Chris Silva.

Below is a brief capsule and quote from Martin on each signee:

Eric Cobb (F – 6-10 – 275 – Jacksonville, Fla./St. Francis Academy (Baltimore)
Noted as a true post player who has the ability to play with his back to the basket … A four-star prospect according to ESPN.com … Three-star prospect according to 247sports.com and Rivals.com … Ranked as the 21st power forward in the country according to ESPN.com … Averaged 13 points and nine rebounds during senior season at St. Francis Academy in Baltimore.

Martin on Cobb:
“Eric is a 6-10, 275-pound true center. He has great hands and great foot work, and an inner toughness. As he continues to grow as a player he is a guy that we think can make a tremendous impact in games, and obviously in winning and in the growth of our program. He has the ability to be a presence at the rim both on offense and defense.”

Raymond Doby (F – 6-7 – 230 – St. Louis, Mo./Montrose Christian School/St. John’s Northwestern Military Academy (Wisconsin))
A three-star prospect according to ESPN.com and 247sports.com … Played his senior season at Montrose Christian School, helping the squad to a 20-5 record, posting 11 games in double figures and averaging 10.7 points per game … Spent a post-graduate year at St. John’s Northwestern Military Academy, where he averaged 20 points, 12 rebounds and three blocks per game … Attended Christian Brothers College High School in St. Louis prior to his time at Montrose Christian.

Martin on Doby:
“Ray is a 6-7, 230-pound what I like to call `combo forward.’ He can play in the post, he can step out and shoot and pass, and he is a ferocious rebounder. He is that ideal guy because of our defensive concepts, where he can step out and defend on the perimeter, but yet be strong enough to play and defend in the post.”

Jamall Gregory (G – 6-4 – 180 – Washington, D.C./Coolidge High School/Elev8 Institute (Florida))
Noted as an extremely athletic player who can defend multiple perimeter positions and a player who looks to attack the rim off of the dribble … A three-star prospect according to 247sports.com and Rivals.com … Averaged 21 points per game as a senior at Coolidge High School … Was selected DMVElite All-DC First Team … Spent a post-graduate year at Elev8 Institute, helping his squad to a 26-4 record, averaging 20 points per game … Played in the National Prep Championship Tournament.

Martin on Gregory:
“Jamall is a 6-4, athletic, high-flying, dunker, slasher, scorer, who has the capabilities of becoming an elite defender in our system. We went back to our [Washington] D.C. recruiting ties in recruiting Jamall, and he is going to bring an athletic dynamic to our guards that we haven’t had.”
