  • Started for the 1997 Women’s College World Series team.

Profile

  • Pietro chose South Carolina because she fell in love with everything about the campus, including the Horseshoe, her favorite place on campus.
  • The weather also played a role in choosing SC.
  • She says her favorite years were her first two because the team’s goal was to “WIN.”
  • Playing was more about the people and teammates around her and not the records and honors.
  • Her favorite moments came in 1997: winning the SEC Tournament, regionals and making it to the Women’s College World Series.

Current Life

  • She now has two masters, one from Syracuse and now serves as a director of college relations.
  • Pietro also has competed in Ironman Triathlons, which includes 2.4 miles of swimming, 112 miles on a bike and a 26.2 mile run.
  • She was a world champion in 2012.
