Shelby Gonzales Bio
In her second year working behind the scenes for South Carolina Softball, Shelby Gonzales helps the team in practice and with administrative tasks as a graduate assistant manager.
Gonzales played two years in the Garnet and Black, starting at catcher both of her years in Columbia. She hit nine homers in 104 career games, ranking eighth in Gamecock history in homers per game while also throwing out 22.9 percent of would-be base stealers.
The Moses Lake, Wash., native came to SC after two years at North Idaho College, where she holds the Cardinals[apos] career record with 30 homers. She also led NJCAA Division I with 104 RBI in 2011. While at NIC, she led an effort to make campus tobacco-free.
Graduating with her B.S. in psychology in May 2013, Gonzales is pursuing a masters degree in counselor education.
