Profile
- Michelle Delloso became one of the first graduates in sports management at South Carolina
- She was recruited the summer of 1987 by head coach Joyce Compton and said she would help the team make the Women’s College World Series.
- Her favorite memory was making that 1989 WCWS in Sunnyvale, Calif., the last time it was held there.
- Delloso remembers the song that was playing when she got to her hotel room that week, which was Carly Simon’s “Let the River Run.”
- Both her and her roommate Tricia Popowski were first-team All-Americans, but she couldn’t call her parents because the phone was taken all night.
- That 1989 WCWS was the last in Sunnyvale, Calif.
- She was the first women’s softball player to have her name on a bat (Louisville Slugger) and the first female baseball/softball player to sign an endorsement contract with Nike.
Current Life
- Delloso has worked in sports since graduating, at companies like Nike, Louisville Slugger and adidas.
- She now owns her own business called Red Rock Consultants.
- She also has a non-profit called Go Girls Futures Program (gogirlprogram.com), that helps empower and build opportunities for female athletes.
- Delloso founded the Rim to Rim Club of the Grand Canyon (rimtorim.org) for hikers.
