CHAPEL HILL, N.C.Hadley Berg and Elixane Lechemia from the South Carolina women’s tennis team advanced to the doubles championship match Sunday in the USTA/ITA Carolina Regional Championships in Chapel Hill, N.C., at the Cone-Kenfield Tennis Center.

Berg and Lechemia recorded a 6-4, 6-3 victory against their teammates Meghan Blevins and Brigit Folland in the semifinals and will now face No. 58-ranked Ashley Dai and Kate Vialle of North Carolina for the title Monday at 8:30 a.m. The winner will qualify for the USTA/ITA National Indoor Intercollegiate Championships held at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in Flushing, N.Y., over Nov. 6-9.

Lechemia lost a close battle with No. 12 Ester Goldfeld from Duke in the singles quarterfinals, falling 6-4, 1-6, 6-4 to end her run in the tournament.
