Alex Martin Named to SEC Women's Tennis Community Service Team

COLUMBIA, S.C. — Junior Alex Martin from the 35th-ranked South Carolina women’s tennis team has been named to the SEC Women’s Tennis Community Service Team, the league office announced Monday.
The Mt. Pleasant, S.C., native Martin participated in multiple events throughout the fall and spring semesters. She manned the Gamecock Donation Station at Williams-Brice Stadium and also volunteered at the South Carolina Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals by donating tennis balls and playing with dogs at an animal shelter. She also participated in the Harvest Hope Food Bank food drive last fall, as well as the Light the Night Walk at Finley Park. Martin has also served lunch at a homeless shelter in Columbia and participated in numerous tennis clinics for residents of the local community.
