Opening Statement
I thought our four freshman pitchers that we threw today threw the ball very well. It was good to see Josh [Reagan] get a start. He made a few bad pitches and gave up a couple runs with two strikes, but all in all he threw the ball very well. [Matthew] Vogel showed the kind of arm strength he has. He was chomping at the bit to get back in there after his first outing and it was good to see him get some outs there and drop some good breaking balls. He threw very well. I thought [Taylor] Widener threw the ball about as good as he’s thrown it since he has been here today. That was his most impressive inning since he has been here and the kid has a bright future. It was good that [John] Parke got out there for the first time. We had some good big hits, good at bats early in the game and that stood up. The conditions weren’t good, it was cold, but luckily our pitchers threw stirkes.

On the weather affecting the game
It definitely wasn’t baseball weather, but you still have to come out here and do your job and get a win. You can’t lie down because there’s bad weather. We jumped on them early; got two in the first and four in the second. We wanted to get on them early and let our pitchers go on cruise control. We didn’t do a whole lot offensively after those first two innings, which was a little disappointing, but give credit to their pitching. We just need to come out here and try to get better tomorrow.
On coming off the big Clemson Series
A lot of times you’ll see teams come off a big series sweep or an emotional weekend and lay an egg on a mid-week game they are supposed to win. We came out swinging the bat, Josh[Reagan] threw well and we took care of business. We need to come out here and do the same thing tomorrow; our pitcher’s need to throw strikes and we need to try to do more offensively to help those guys out and we’ll be ready for tomorrow

On his first start
I felt alright. The first or second inning I was trying to feel my pitches but towards the end of the game everything was fresh and smooth out of my hand. My change up was a lot better, it was down and I was coming in a lot better than I was in the first two innings but. I felt good overall.
