CHAPEL HILL, N.C. — South Carolina women’s tennis freshman Brigit Folland saw her run in the USTA/ITA Carolina Regional Championships come to an end Sunday in Chapel Hill, N.C.

After scoring a victory against the nation’s No. 42-ranked player from Duke on Saturday, Folland suffered a 6-1, 6-2 setback to the nation’s No. 4-rated freshman Hayley Carter from North Carolina in the quarterfinals. Folland’s 3-1 slate in Chapel Hill improved her fall record to 6-4.

With the fall now complete for the Gamecocks, they will prepare for dual match play in the spring. South Carolina opens the 2014 campaign with a doubleheader against East Tennessee State and College of Charleston on Jan. 18.
