COLUMBIA, S.C. – The South Carolina track and field program will host the 20th annual Weems Baskin Invitational on Friday and Saturday, March 22 and 23 at the Weems Baskin Track. Nearly 30 schools and 800 student athletes will be on hand over the course of the two-day meet. The public is welcome (free admission).
Field events are scheduled to begin on Friday at noon with the women’s hammer throw. The only running event of the day is the men’s 5,000-meter run at 7:00 p.m.
On Saturday, a full slate of events on both the field and the track are scheduled. The field events kick off at 10:00 a.m. with the women’s discus throw while the running events begin at 10:30 a.m. with the 3,000-meter steeplechase.
