ATLANTARamon Galloway scored 17 points and Sam Muldrow had a near triple-double but Ole Miss came out victorious in a 66-55 SEC Tournament opening round game at the Georgia Dome.

The Gamecocks (14-16) set an SEC Tournament school record with 10 blocked shots, including an individual tournament game record seven by Muldrow, but the Rebels (20-12) were able to pull away in the final 90 seconds to advance to the next round of the tournament.

Muldrow chipped in 12 points and nine rebounds to go with his seven blocks in his last game for South Carolina. He and Galloway were the only double-digit scorers for the Gamecocks.

Terrence Henry led Ole Miss with an 11-point, 10-rebound performance. The Rebels advance to play Kentucky in the quarterfinals.

South Carolina’s season ended with a 20-of-67 performance (30 percent) from the field. Right off the tip, the Gamecocks jumped to a quick 5-0 lead, but Ole Miss ripped off 17 straight points with a barrage of 3-pointers.

Bruce Ellington finally stopped the run, hitting a 3 for the Gamecocks, and the Gamecocks turned things around late in the half with a 10-0 stretch to trail 30-26 at the half.

After the break, Ellington hit a free throw to start the half, and then Ole Miss stretched it out again with 11 straight points. Galloway hit two straight 3s in South Carolina’s last gasp, making it 62-55 with 1:23 left, but the Rebels scored the final four points of the game.
