The University of South Carolina Women’s Tennis will host the 2002 Southern
Intercollegiate Tournament this weekend. There will be 48 players from nine different
schools competing. The teams competing will be South Carolina, Clemson, Western
Carolina, Winthrop, Coastal Carolina, UNC Asheville, West Virginia, Presbyterian
College, Appalachian State.

Play will include 4 single tournaments and 2 double tournaments. Both double
and single tournament will include a consolation bracket. The tournament will be
held at the Maxcy Gregg Tennis Court on Blossom Street and the Sam Daniels
Tennis Courts which is beside Sarge Frye Field.

On Friday, 1st and 2nd round of doubles action and 1st round of singles will
be played while Saturday only will be singles action. Sunday will have the final
rounds of the singles and doubles play.

The tournament will begin tomorrow morning at 9:30 with singles play.
