COLUMBIA, S.C. – Watch the initial production of Gamecock Confidential, a new web show at GamecocksOnline.com, which takes you behind the scenes of South Carolina’s softball team as it prepares for their first season under new head coach Beverly Smith.

Put together by Gamecock Productions student assistants Courtney Krebs, Steven Heyward, Angela Padgett, Chelsea Parler and the rest of the staff, the first edition shows the Gamecocks’ first practice in the spring of 2011 as well as some off-day antics after a rare snowstorm cancelled the first day of classes at South Carolina. The show also takes a look at the coaching staff, sitting down with Smith while also introducing assistant coaches Janelle Breneman and Calvin Beamon.

Gamecock Confidential will go up each Friday and will show fans behind-the-scenes footage of the Gamecocks through the first weekend of the season. South Carolina starts its 38th season of intercollegiate softball on Fri., Feb. 11 at 3 p.m. EST against Charleston Southern as part of the Palmetto State Showdown at historic Beckham Field.
