GamecocksOnline.com caught up with junior guard Marah Strickland after dinner at The Dodie last week for a quick Q&A. Here are some things you might not know about one of the Gamecocks’ premier sharp shooters. Do you eat M&Ms one at a time or by the handful?
I eat M&Ms by the color. I’m most likely to eat the blues first, the reds second and the yellows definitely last.
What’s the best part of a cake – cake, frosting or filling?
Cake, all day every day. I’m a cake girl. Usually I just make cupcakes without the frosting.

What’s your favorite flavor M&M – plain, peanut, almond, dark, peanut butter, pretzel?
Oh, there’s a pretzel? It would have to be that, then.
What’s your favorite sugary road food?
Lately I’ve been doing Kit Kats a lot because they’re so easy to eat. Ultimately, I’d have to go chocolate covered pretzel, though. It’s the perfect sweet and salty snack.
How do you eat Oreos – lick center first, dunk in milk, no special way?
I love Oreos. I always split them apart. I eat the unfrosted side first and save the frosted side for last because it’s my favorite.
Do you drink the milk left over from a bowl of cereal?
I don’t like milk. So, when I eat cereal I try to drain every little bit off the spoon.
Do you need more shoes, think you need more shoes or have plenty of shoes?
I probably could use some more heels. And, you can never have enough basketball shoes.
What’s something you’d love to wear but don’t have the nerve?
Personality glasses. I’d love to wear them, but I don’t think I can pull it off.
Do you wear painful shoes just because they’re cute?
Absolutely not. I’m a ball player, so I need my feet first and foremost.
What is your absolute favorite article of clothing?
I love my motorcycle boots and motorcycle jacket.
What is the best trait in a friend?
Loyalty

Depends on who it is – family just seconds, strangers probably longer.

What two things do you want very badly at the moment?
I’d love to win an SEC championship. I don’t really have another one.

I know a lot of random facts, also horoscopes and basketball.
Do you untie your sneakers before you take them off?
Always, my dad hates it done the other way. He says it ruins the shoe.
What is the coolest thing you’ve ever made by hand?
Me and my friend made a go-cart when we were little.
Are you afraid of public speaking?
Not at all

No, but that would be awesome

Sorry but, yes I do…always

Always, and it sounds great to me.

First – it’s my competitive side.

No, but I’d really, really like to.
For Halloween, do you prefer to dress up scary, funny or hot?
I dress up scary. I’ve been obsessed with dressing up as a vampire since I was about two. I love it.
What game are you not good at?
Monopoly – it’s way to long for me.

My keys and my phone
