COLUMBIA, S.C. – The 24th-ranked South Carolina softball team continues with SEC play this weekend as they travel to Starkville, Miss. to face the Mississippi State Bulldogs, March 16-17. The games are scheduled for noon (CT) on both days.
This will mark only the third trip to Starkville for the Gamecocks. USC is 9-6 overall against the Bulldogs and 3-1 in Starkville. Last year, the Gamecocks hosted MSU and won two of the three.
Carolina enters the series 19-7 overall and 2-1 in the SEC, while the Bulldogs are 17-10 overall. This will be their first conference series for the season. MSU is not currently ranked, but in this week’s poll, they lead the teams that are receiving votes.
The Gamecocks are 7-5 in road games for the season. Six of the wins and three if the losses are at neutral sites.
USC has won their last three games while MSU had a four-game win streak before they fell to no. 3 Stanford last weekend in the Speedline Tournament.
