COLUMBIA, S.C.- Berna Dwyer set a new career high with six service aces, and Carolina knocked down 47 kills, led by Nadia Sefferovich’s 11, and held Auburn to a .024 hitting percentage in an easy 3-0 win over the Auburn Tigers tonight at the Volleyball Competition Facility. The Gamecocks improve to 15-3 overall, and 8-3 in SEC play. The Gamecocks return to action Sunday when they host Alabama at 2 p.m.

“Nadia continued to play well tonight,” said Carolina coach Kim Christopher. “It was also good to see Yajaira put up double digit digs. We blocked much better tonight than we have in the past.”

It was more of the same in game two, as Carolina never trailed. The Gamecocks led by as much as 24-15 on a Cally Plummer kill, and Carolina used three straight service aces from Dwyer to take a 27-16 lead. Auburn committed a block error to win the game.

The Gamecocks ended the match in game three with a strong defense and an explosive offense to win 30-18. Yajaira Cadet had four of her career high 12 digs in the game, and she also finished with eight kills.
