The University of South Carolina men’s golf team finishes 14th in the Mercedes-Benz Collegiate in Ponte Vedra, Fla. USC, improving after each round of play, fired a three-round total of 911 (314-302-295). Florida won the team title and Tennessee was two strokes back in second place. Host North Florida finished third.
Sophomore Brent Delahoussaye fired a three-under-par 69 in the final round of action, elevating him to a 15th place finish. Delahoussaye shot a three-round total of 220. Five strokes back from Delahoussaye was teammmate Martin Rominger. Rominger’s score of 225 would land him in 30th place.
Alex Hamilton, shooting 231, finished in 51st. Nash Elliot (75th) and Jonathan Jackson (77th) shot 240 and 241.
The Gamecocks have a few weeks off before they head to Tallahassee, Fla. for the Seminole Challenge on March 11-12.
