ATHENS, Ga. –
University of South Carolina men’s tennis senior Guillaume Legat lost to Georgia’s Matias Boeker, 6-2, 6-2, Sunday afternoon in the semifinals of the NCAA Singles National Championships at Henry Feild Stadium on the University of Georgia campus.

The loss ended Legat’s Carolina career as the Saint Lo, France native put together one of the most impressive spring seasons in college tennis. He advanced to the national semifinals – further than any Gamecock men’s tennis player ever – and lost for the first time Sunday in the postseason, period. Legat was 6-0 heading into the match with Boeker (1-0 each in the SEC and NCAA Tournaments and 4-0 in the NCAA Singles Championships) after completing a spring season in which he finished a perfect 10-0 playing at No. 1 singles in SEC action.
