Columbia, S. C. – The University of South Carolina women’s cross country team wrapped up its season today, finishing 18th at the NCAA Southeast Regionals in Greenville, S.C.

NC State won the 6,000-meter race, followed by North Carolina and Virginia. The Wolfpack and Tar Heels automatically qualify for the NCAA Championships. North Carolina’s Shalane Falnagan won the individual title with a time of 20:26.

Senior Rachel Smith led the way for the Gamecocks, finishing in 59th place with a time of 23:32. Crossing the finish line at 24:40, Criston Dailey finished 102nd. Freshmen Nikki Campbell and Mary Claire Utsey finished 105th and 118th. Rounding out the top five was Nicole Behrns with a time of 25:22.
